SC Server Training is an online program certified by the South Carolina Department of Revenue as meeting all requirements for state-mandated alcohol server training.
Yes. Beginning January 1, 2026, all alcohol-service employees must complete approved server training.
Servers, bartenders, and managers of establishments in South Carolina licensed to sell and serve alcohol for on-premises consumption.
The course includes a little over 4 hours of instruction time, plus required testing. Brief tests following each substantive session are not intended to be difficult if the session is watched.
The course consists of 9 sessions, an introduction, a conclusion, and 7 substantive sessions. Each session must be watched in order, and there will be a brief test of 5 or 6 questions following each substantive session. The test must be passed to move to the next session. If a test is failed, the session must be watched again, and the test passed to move forward.

Following course completion, your information will be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Revenue, unless you are taking the course for education purposes only and elect against submitting your information. The Department’s official server training certificate may be downloaded via MyDORway and is valid for three years.
